Democracy Collection Competition Exhibition

In February of 2023, the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies office and the National Art Education Association announced the call for artwork for the Democracy Collection Student Art Competition exploring the theme of democracy through the creation of art.

Out of more than 100 submissions for the competition, 29 works of art were jury selected by Shepard Fairey for inclusion in a virtual exhibition on NAEA’s website. Avery was one of those top 29, placing first in her district of Michigan! To see the full list of submissions, follow the link below.
